Instagram Giveaway Rules

1. Eligibility

• This giveaway is open to legal residents of British Columbia, Canada, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
• No purchase necessary to enter.
• Void outside of British Columbia and where prohibited by law.

2. How to Enter

• Like the giveaway post.
• Follow @romancingthedata and @vancouvermysteries on Instagram.
• Tag 1 or more friends in the comments (each comment with a tag counts as one entry).
• Optional: Share the post to your stories on Instagram and tag @romancingthedata for a bonus entry (one time).
• All steps must be completed before the giveaway deadline. Incomplete or inaccurate entries may be disqualified.

3. Giveaway Period

• Entries will be accepted starting on Friday, April 11, 2025 and ending on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:59 pm PT.
• Entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

4. Winner Selection & Notification

• The winners will be randomly selected and contacted on Saturday, May 26, 2025 via Instagram direct message. Once confirmed, the winner will be announced on Instagram posts and/or stories.
• Winners will be contacted via DM on Instagram from @romancingthedata only.
• To be declared a winner, the selected entrant must:

1. Respond within 48 hours of being contacted.
2. Correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question without assistance.
3. Meet all eligibility requirements and comply with these rules.

5. Prizes

• 1 winner will receive a gift certificate for an Outdoor Game for 2 Players at Vancouver Mysteries ($70 value).
• Prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternative.
• If the winner is unable to use the gift certificate for some reason (for example, they don't live in the area), an alternate winner will be drawn.
• The prize is in the form of a digital gift certificate that will be delivered by email.

6. General Conditions

• This giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram.
• By entering, participants confirm they are releasing Instagram and the giveaway host from responsibility.
• By entering, you grant us permission to publicly announce your username in the event you win.

7. Privacy
Personal information collected for this giveaway (e.g., name, email, address) will be used only to administer the giveaway and deliver the prize. We will not sell or share your information with third parties.

8. Disqualification & Misconduct

• We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant found to be using fake accounts, bots, or engaging in any fraudulent or abusive behavior.
• We also reserve the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the giveaway at our discretion should unforeseen issues arise.
